Amy Edgington, married March 26, 2011
When Amy Edgington and Larry Jacobson drove through a December downpour to hear us, it was love at first sight: We fell in love with this wonderful couple.
Once they hired us, we stayed in constant communication, fine-tuning the prelude, ceremony and reception music with Larry and Amy and their wedding coordinator.
And when we finally played at their wedding at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, everything went smoothly, at least from our point of view. Here is what Larry and Amy had to say:
"We wanted unique music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and our DJ referred us to BrassWorks. They worked very closely with us to choose the best pieces for our ceremony, and were the perfect background for our cocktail hour. Our guests raved about our choice of musicians and we just can't say enough good things about them."

"One of the things my husband really wanted for our wedding was a brass quintet for the ceremony. He is an ex-tuba player, so it was something that was important to him. I did a lot of searching and made a lot of calls, and I finally found BrassWorks. They were awesome! I was impressed from the start with their prompt and friendly communication and their extensive repertoire. The group had me come out for one of their rehearsals two weeks before the wedding so I could listen to and choose the songs for the ceremony and reception, and I was thoroughly impressed by how full and rich everything sounded. They played the classical selections that we picked out for the different parts of the ceremony, then chose some pop/jazz music for the cocktail hour. When our officiant changed things up at the end of the ceremony without letting them know, they figured it out quickly and were able to switch to the next song without a delay. Our guests truly enjoyed the music they played at the cocktail hour - my grandmother is still talking about how much she loved "the brass band." I loved working with BrassWorks -- they're talented musicians as well as good, honest people, and their music added a whole new dimension to our ceremony. I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning an event and wants something special for their big day."

When The Knot Southern California (Spring/Summer 2010) asked Katrina to explain the art of the wedding budget, BrassWorks received a mention and a photo, probably because Mark Prather is without doubt the quintet's handsomest trumpet player.
